Francesco Rinaldi has a new pasta sauce line called TO BE HEALTHY and is it ever tasty! My family sampled the Spicy Marinara and it is SPICY! I was excited to try the sauce because of their claim to be fortified with DHA Omega 3 (64 mg DHA Omega 3 per serving), Reduced Sodium (330mg per serving which is a 38% reduction from their Hot & Spicy Diavolo) and no added sugar. The label has the support of The American Heart Association and Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval!
The Spicy Marinara was on the spicy side (it lived up to its Spicy Marinara name) so I added extra plain tomato sauce for my girls. They are not spicy fans for spaghetti sauce but I really wanted my husband to try this. It was tasty! I cook low sodium so this sauce was perfect for us. I added fresh basil to it right before serving. Not that the sauce needed it but my basil plant is going crazy right now and needed to be picked. The sauce had a very fresh, natural tomato taste. I'm sure some of that had to do with the no added sugar ingredient. I'm thrilled to have reviewed this yummy sauce. When I go to buy sauce I will be purchasing this sauce for my family.
Don't just take my yummy word for it, check out Francesco Rinaldi online and get some for yourself!
I was sent a jar to review. The opinions here are all my own tasty words.
This sauce is so yummy looking! Thanks for sharing i have never heard of it.
ReplyDeleteWow, this sauce sounds great. I love that it is going to be a healthy sauce, but still busting with flavor. I am not a spicy type person, but this actually sounds pretty good and I would love to try it.
ReplyDeletebeing italian i never, ever used jarred sauce, but i might break my rule for an easy night. the big reason i do not like sauce in a jar is beause of the sugar..even many homemade recipes add sugar. i cannot stand sweet sauce, so i might try this one.
ReplyDeleteI really like trying lots of versions of spaghettis. This one caught my attention. I am going to try it today.
