Insights Guides- United States on the Road

Insight Guide United States on the Road (Insight Guides United States on the Road)

Want to take a road trip but not sure where to go? Pick up Insights Guide to United States on the Road. It includes 5 travel routes with must see stops!

The first Insights Guides was created in 1970, which by the way, is the year of my birth! So for 40 years they have worked to provide their readers handy travel information, outstanding photographs and real understanding of the culture and workings of their intended destinations.

Information from Langenscheidt Publishing Group:  Insight Guide’s USA on the Road offers readers five trips around the USA—Atlantic, Northern, Central, Southern and Pacific—guided by its free-wheeling narrative and vivid photos that cover thousands of miles and celebrate America’s great roads and the people who live and work alongside them.

Features:

  • Contains useful, practical information to help plan your road trip, offering various routes all around the US

  • Special "travel tips" section offers you the best locations along each route for dining, camping, and lodging at a variety of prices

  • Evocative, full-color photography on every page to give you a sense of what might see on your journey

  • Cross-referenced, four-color maps throughout

  • This book in particular does not cover the entire United States but enough to provide knowledge and understanding of our unique "on-the-road culture" touching upon some of our most well known history.  The book features such areas as Santa Fe, Yellowstone National Park, Grand Canyon, Everglades, Savannah, New Your City, Niagra Falls, California's Big Sur and saguaro cactus of the American Southwest.

You will find Editor's Choice for Best for Families, Best Scenic Drives, Best Museums & Galleries, Best Historical Sites, Best Architecture & Buildings and Flavors of the USA.

I love the 5 planned out travel routes listed.  What a great book to give to someone coming to the United States or even someone who is retiring.  It has 464 jammed-packed pages of travel-goodness.  We are going to use the book for homeschool in the fall when my 6th grader studies American History.

Are you familiar with The Insight Guides? If so, which one?
