Lumby on the Air Review and Giveaway

Lumby on the Air
I'm a huge fan of the Lumby Series.  The newest book was just released, Lumby on the Air.  This is a book series that you can pick up and easily read out of order. I say this because I read book #4, The Lumby Lines, before reading #1-3.  I was able to read the story for what was written.  Once I went back and read #1-3 I then knew the history behind book 4. Got it?

Here is the scoop on Lumby of the Air from the author's website:

Pam and Mark Walker are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary with a week-long family reunion and a ceremony renewing their vows. Mark breezily dismisses Pam’s misgiving about temporarily closing Montis Inn and heads off to the county fair, to try his hand at both chainsaw sculpting and sheep shearing, with chaotic--and hilarious--results. Meanwhile, Pam juggles her thrill-seeking mother, who has a new “friend with benefits,” and her non-conformist niece, who posts family secrets in her online blog . Then Mark’s brother-in-law starts broadcasting his radio talk show live from Montis Inn. His remarks disparaging small-town life cause immediate rifts, especially when he sides with a real estate developer who wants to turn Lumby into a Las Vegas version of Aspen. As the controversy pits family against family, and neighbor against neighbor, will the spirit that defines Lumby triumph once again?

My Take on the Book:  The answer is YES! Yes Lumby will triumph, yes they have a crazy family, yes this is another fun-loving, quirk-small-town well written book in the series that you must go read!!!  I found that this book was very much up with the current times dealing with issues such as blogging and meeting strangers online.   The book also dealt with adults who act like children and children who are trying to act like adults.

Parents help create a direction for their kids no matter their age.  I do mean no matter how old the parents are as well as the kids.  In the case of Jessica, Mz. teenager out of control, she was just that.  Perfect example of how society is encouraging us to let our kids be and do whatever they way at the expense of others around them and how this is detrimental to themselves.  Within a few chapters the parents had their daughter straightened out.  I'm sure in real life it doesn't work that quickly BUT it drove home the point that kids want to be connected to their parents.  IF they don't connect to you then they will go off and find it elsewhere.

You'll have to read the book to get more information!  Hank (town mascot who happens to be a flamboyant fl-fl-flamingo) is sitting here, giving me the evil eye!  He is afraid that I will say too much and ruin the book for you!  Come on and enter the giveaway to get your very own copy!  If you can't wait that long, go buy it!  The picture above takes you right to Amazon! The book always includes fun surprises at the end of the book some of which are tasty recipes!!!

  14. My son is grown now. He had ADHD, OCD and ODD as a child. Probably Asperger's but was past that point when the diagnosis came to be. He grew up to be the most wonderful, kind, caring and sensitive man.
