ReplyDeleteOne of the oldest recipes I have was from a cookbook that my mother bought at the Montessori school that I went to. It is of Lemon Squares and these are something that my sisters are always asking me to make for parties or family get together.

The pictures of the Cheesy Hash brown from your review and giveaway of the Mom's Very Best Recipe was what got me. My husband was actually passing by when I was looking at the post and he said that I should make that as it looked wonderful and he loves cheese and potatoes.

Today the Gooseberry Patch blog has a recipe for the Chicken and Dumplings. That is one thing that my grandmother always made each Sunday. My father talks about it a lot. I have tried to recreate the recipe but never quite have gotten it.

Hi there! I'm following!
ReplyDeleteThe oldest recipe I use is one from my great aunt. She learned it when she was a live in maid in the 20s. It is called "chop chop potatoes" but it should be called heart attack in a dish! It is just that good.
I don't bake as many cookies as I should with all of these kids. Most of mine are break and bake!
Hey I'm already a follower! :) and my oldest recipe that I still use would have to be Chili Beef Skillet. It is a one dish meal (my fave!), kidney beans, long grain rice, dices tomoatoes, spices, and ground beef. With chedda cheese on top! :)
ReplyDeleteMmmmm.

ReplyDeleteI made Gooseberry Patch Soft Brown Sugar Cookies. They are so good. They are light and yummy.
ReplyDeleteI loved the way they turned out just like the picture :)

ReplyDeleteThis looks like very cosy food... cold winter days, warm socks, good book....
ReplyDeleteCan the Soft Brown Sugar Cookies be made in advance? Would you freeze them before of after frosting them? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteDoes "t" means tbsp or tsp????
ReplyDeleteHey Kate--
ReplyDeleteThe little "t" stands for teaspoon (as opposed to when she puts a big "T" for tablespoon in the frosting recipe). I hope this helps!
