Baking with Domino Light Sugar & Stevia Blend: Chocolate Cookies

Do you bake healthy with sugar substitutes, artificial sweeteners or all natural sugar stevia blends? Follow along with my healthier lifestyle journey while I blog healthy recipes.
I have tried to cut back the sugar in some of my baking recipes using sugar substitutes but I'm always unhappy with the results. The taste and texture are always off and not enjoyable. I've been on a healthier eating kick which has included no diet products that contain artificial sweeteners.  When I was given the chance to review the new Domino Light All Natural Sugar & Stevia Blend I jumped at the chance.
Before I baked with the blend I tried it out in my coffee, on fresh fruit and on cereal. I did not get my usual headache that I would get from artificial sweeteners. So with this positive experience, I took on the blend and used it in our family favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe.
The Domino Light All Natural Sugar & Stevia Blend has half the calories of sugar which saves 350 calories per cup. The blend is pure sugar cane that has a naturally sweet extract from the stevia plant. This is what makes it a sweetener with no artificial ingredients.

Domino Light comes in a two pound resealable pouch which is designed for baking. The bag is 2 pounds which is the same amount of sweetness as a 4 pound bag of sugar. They do have a 40 count box which is what I used to sweetened my berries, tea, coffee, etc. In recipes you are suppose to use 1/2 cup of the blend vs. 1 cup of regular sugar. (All of this information came from the bag and box)

The cookies turned out great. My daughter and I did not tell anyone that we used the blend and NO ONE NOTICED a difference! NO ONE! I have been baking these cookies for almost 20 years. We aren't telling them, either. So if they actually take the time to read my blog then they will know about the change.
