Graffiti Art in the Kitchen

I love my kitchen. It is a fun place to hang out and create memories. I don't love all my appliances, though. The fridge came with the house when we moved in almost 6 years ago and it is old! It keeps the food cold and frozen so who cares that it is ugly and that the ice maker doesn't work, the light doesn't work inside or even that the shelving is really outdated?

Every Christmas I wrap it up with gift wrapping paper to cover it up during our Open House. By March everyone is wondering why it is still wrapped in Christmas paper. Yes, it is a real conversation starter. I thought of adding seasonal wrapping paper to keep up with the calendar but I that took too much effort. So that got me thinking- why not take off the Christmas paper and add on plain paper. That way the kids can draw on it!

This is an easy DIY creative project. Just go get white wrapping paper and cover the fridge. Tape on the paper and let them have some fun. If your kids are anything like mine, they seem to loose every sharpie or marker in the house. So I purchased the silver magnetic pen holder and added in a variety of  felt tip and sharpie markers. Most of the pens have remained in the holder.

Now the fridge is getting quite a bit of attention. Random drawing are appearing by the kitchen mice and their little neighborhood friends. I'll update this post soon with some of our new graffiti art! In the meantime, you should do it, too!

Happy Creating! I linked up this post over at the Bowdabra Crafty Showcase, Six Sisters' Stuff and TuTus and Tea Parties.
