Summer Family Fun Discover Boating

Every summer all the boaters get together from our church and join up on Rend Lake for huge Sunday Armada. It is a yearly tradition and everyone looks forward to it each year. Besides this event, the boaters head out to the lake all throughout the summer. We don't personally own a boat but that doesn't stop our participation in these fun filled events!

Heading out on the water is a fun family event that is free of any type of electronic distractions. I don't even think cell phones are out which keeps all the texting and Facebook posting for after the event. Isn't that refreshing?

Do you have a boat? How often do you head out on the water. Do you have kids? Do you take them? Have you taught them about water safety? I just found a really helpful site that has games, activities and safety tips just for kids. There are a lot of resources here to teach them more about boating. On our Sunday Armada there are people of all ages- kids up to grandparents. Check out the boating education page before your next trip on the water. 


The site that I mentioned above is called DiscoverBoating.com which provides a lot of tools, tips and how-to guides to teach you more about boating. They have a very easy-to navigate website. I clicked to get the free, "Get Starting in Boating," DVD.
