These things are SO EASY to make! These ornaments can last for years. We has a few that are over 15 years old. This recipe was first given to me over 20 years ago when I was a new bride by my auntie. We wrap them well each year to try and preserve with them the other Christmas Ornaments.
Easy Cinnamon Ornament Recipe (non edible)
Ingredients
1/3 cup cinnamon powder
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon allspice or ginger
1/4 cup applesauce (natural or unsweetened)
2 teaspoons craft glue
Directions
1-In a small bowl, mix all together.
2-Roll out on a well floured (we just use cinnamon as the "flour") area to 1/4 inch - 1/2 inch thick.
3-Use cookie cutters to make shapes.
4-Use a straw to poke a hole where you will want the string to go through to hang.
5-Let air dry for 2-3 days.
6-Speed up the process and make your house smell great by baking to dry in a 150 degree oven for one hour on each side. If they aren't super hard once you remove them then give them 6-12 hours of dry time outside the oven.
7-Use white glue, hot glue puffy paint (that is what we use) or paint to give the ornaments a frosted look. Save time for that to dry, too.
