Teach Teens How to Save Money with Back To School Shopping #sponsored

At an early age we taught our girls to shop the sales racks! We all know that very few clothes items need to be purchase at full price. Sometimes it is necessary but not every time. Over the years I have watched my savvy teen shoppers make smart choices when spending the family money, their own earned money and even gift cards and money from family! How about your kids? Are you teaching them as youngsters how to find deals and save money? Where do you stop for the best deals at Back To School time?

I have had fun being a Kohl's Brand Ambassador the past few months which I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Kohl’s. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating. This campaign allowed me to go spend some fun, quality shopping time with my soon to be high school sophomore teen girl!

This shopping trip was a lot of fun! My teen had a wish list in her mind when she walked into Kohl's. My daughter knew how much she had to spend and her goal was to get the max amount of back to school items during our trip. Automatically my teen led me to the clearance racks at Kohl's. She knows that is where you find the deepest discounts at Kohl's. She did find some perfect items to add to her back to school wardrobe, too! Next the savvy shopping teen led me to the sales racks. She already checked out their sales ad so she knew what to look for. Once she hit the sales, we headed over to shoes and backpacks because Kohl's carries all of those items, too.

Once my savvy teen had all of her clothes picked, we headed to the dressing room so she could make sure everything fit. On our way to the dressing room we ran into a rack of limited selections by Vera Wang. She picked up a quirky dress to try on for fun. This dressed ended up fitting her perfect so much that she had to have it and the price was right.

Once she tried on all of her new clothes, some went back to the racks and others pilled high in the cart. We were both really excited to find a lot of great deals on the racks and saved even more with a coupon and Kohl's cash. We both added up the purchases to make sure we stayed within budget, which we did! We took time to check out the back to school furniture and fun and fashionable towels which had her creating a future to purchase list when they go on sale, too! I zoomed by the mom clothes and found a FUN tshirt. Do you like it?

We did earn Kohl's bucks on this trip and returned to shop for one of my other teens! She found an entire outfit which included a nice jacket, jeans, cami and socks for $20 Kohl Bucks!

How do you shop for back to school with multiple kids? Do you take them all at once or use the time to spend one on one with each kid. I loved having this opportunity to spend time just with one girl. My soon to be 10th grader will be headed back with braces and glasses and now will be sporting some new savvy back to school shopping deals!
