I'm a huge fan of the American Red Cross. They are always around when there is a crisis. I was most impressed by their quick action and dedication to the city of New Orleans almost 10 years ago. We lived in New Orleans at the time but had evacuated before the levee broke and the storm hit the city. We watched from 12 hours away at the ready response and help of the American Red Cross. When we evacuated from New Orleans, we took some scrapbooks, important papers and a few days worth of clothes. Our priority was to get out of the city before everyone started leaving.
