Help Mama and Babies Get Safe Birth Services #KanguMama #IC #ad

Are you pregnant or have you been pregnant? How concerned are you that you will have the medial care you need to help you throughout your pregnancy? What if you lived where you couldn't get any medical care for you and your unborn baby? Do you think that we should help pregnant women receive the medical care they need during and after childbirth? I had health insurance for my pregnancies but if I didn't it could have turned out badly for both myself and my babies. I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central and Kangu. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
kangu

Have you ever heard of Kangu? It is a non-profit organization with a big dream. What is their dream? Kangu's is using the crowfunding platform to help every woman in the world has a safe birth and help put an end to preventable maternal and newborn deaths. They enable donors to support life-saving health services for pregnant women and their babies in need, globally. Did you know that every day, 800 women, nearly 300,000 per year, die from preventable causes related to pregnancy and childbirth. Out of all these deaths, 99% of them occur in developing countries.

Have you ever heard of "crowfunding"? Prior to this campaign I had never heard of this term. It refers to technology that enables individuals to come together as a community to jointly raise money for something they all believe in. Kangu's "safe birth" services refer to healthcare services (before, during and after delivery) that have proven to save the lives of mamas and their newborn babies.

How amazing is this? Kangu offers safe birth services that have proven to reduce maternal and newborn deaths by up to 80%. I personally do not have any connection to this organization or one of the partnering countries but I am compelled to help them. When I was in college my favorite nursing rotation was with the pregnant moms, birthing moms and after care for babies. We do not know how lucky we are in the United States to have these readily available services even for people without healthy insurance.

How about you? Is Kangu an organization you feel compelled to contribute toward? Leave a comment below and let me know what you think about the services available through Kangu.

Did you know that you can share all of this about Kangu to your friends on your social media sites and be entered to win one of five $100 donations on your behalf to a Kangu Mom. Isn't that amazing? Best giveaway ever! Enter below now through March 2nd.

40 Bags in 40 Days Declutter Challenge #MakeTime365

Today I started a new challenge, 40 Bags in 40 Days to declutter all areas of my life. This could be 40 super extra large bags of stuff to even 40 small grocery sacks. Who really cares what size bags you are carrying around but now is the time to throw away, declutter, and even giveaway things no longer needed.

#maketime365

What to join in? Every day I will share my bag or what I'm giving away or what I found when I was decluttering. I would love for you to join in and do the same! Share this post with your friends, too. I won't always make a blog post about it but will always share on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and sometimes Pinterest. So make sure you are following me! I'll use the hashtag #MakeTime365 which is the same hashtag I use to remind me daily to eat healthy and exercise. Are you seeing a trend here? All this is part of having a healthier lifestyle!

Why am I starting this today? Why not? Today is as good of day as any to get doing it. I've actually been wanting to clean out my old craft room that turned into a crap room years ago. Years ago I moved my craft stuff out of there and then it became the dumping ground for all things unwanted. It is a sad room and I want to declutter it and give things away, sell on local swaps and on Amazon.

Ditch The Ick Before and After Exercising #TRYDRY

If you follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest,Twitter, and/or a regular blog reader then you know that I LOVE exercising. Not only do I love it, I'm a health coach. So I do my own exercising and I help others exercise, too! Six days a week I sweat. I don't just sweat tiny drop, I actually sweat very large drops and my clothes are wet. Knowing how sweating I get, I do my best to ditch the ick even before I start exercising. I do not mind the sweat as I consider that a good workout for me but I do NOT WANT to smell. How about you? Thanks to Global Influence for sponsoring this post. My own words and opinions are expressed here.
ditch the ick

There was one time I remember when I forgot to add on extra deodorant before working out. So I had to take a few swipes of a friend's deodorant. I was grossed out at having to rub someone else's antiperspirant under my arms. That was the last time I ever forgot to use my own before or after working out. Has this ever happened to you?

Have you heard about the NEW Dry Spray Antiperspirants from Degree Men, Degree Women, Dove, Dove Men+Care and Axe, which are available at Walmart?

I have been testing out the new Degree MotionSense Dry Spray Fresh Energy scent which is perfect for my active lifestyle.

  • I absolutely love that it is a dry spray that I can added before or after a workout. Because it is a dry spray it is less gross to share it with a friend because it doesn't roll on.
  • I also love that it last 48 hours which guarantees constant coverage.
  • No more visible residue which rubs off on to all my clothes!
  • Goes on instantly dry!

So have you heard of the new Dryspray? Are you going to go grab a bottle?

Next time you are going to get all sweaty, ditch the ick before and or after with this new Dryspray! I'm all about sweating and really believe it is fat crying while I exercise!

Get Real Here with Your Eating! Is it OUT OF CONTROL? #maketime365

Ok let's get real here. The gloves are ON! Time to get honest with yourself
I have quite a few people who I am working with privately. All of them are struggling with eating on some level. The eating is either too much or too little at inappropriate times. You know what I mean....

If you can related that you know we all have days when we "freak out" and eat everything insight...even things that do not taste so great. The real problem is when most days are freak out days and we don't even recognize it. Just the fact that we can go days & weeks on target and eating healthy is proof that all of us are working in the right direction. If you can recognize you are having freak out days you are taking the right steps in the right direction. If you aren't having healthy days and every day is a freak out day....then know that you can break the cycle with the right support.

Just the fact that you are here reading this is a big step in the right direction.
Tips -

*Recognize you are over or under eating
*Talk to someone about it (message me)
*Join in discussion with others publicly about this (in any of my groups, friends, family, etc)
*Take steps to have more healthy days vs. freak out days
*Don't beat yourself up if you have a freak out day. Recognize it and do the steps above.
Reality-

During the freak out or even the day after you know that you aren't feeling so great. Recognize how awful you feel physically and admit that you are tired of feeling that way. Write down how awful you feel. Be real. Write down how physically awful you feel. Write down what you ate. Focus while you are writing at how crappy you are feeling. This will help you identify what your trigger foods are. It will help you learn to break away from those foods, break away from eating too many of them. Try and not tell yourself to never eat something because it is human nature to go to the bad when you are feeling tempted and then you will over do it. Once you recognize the food(s) allow in moderation unless you are totally sick by it and then work to avoid it. Go back up to tips and do them. I also want you to write down that you DESERVE better and you DESERVE to feel better.

Is this you? Do you sometimes feel horrible physically after having a freak out with food? Does it leave you to then feel horrible mentally? Do you beat yourself up over it? Does it sometimes take you to a dark slippery place where it touches you even deeper spiritually. That is the cycle we have to break. Don't you think?

Message me if this is you and you need someone to listen. I am a health coach and want to help you. I'm all about confidentiality and won't share our conversation with anyone. I will use our conversations to help others just like I'm sharing right now. You speaking to me will be our business ONLY! I work well one on one.
Message me if you want to be in a very small private group with others are struggling with food addictions. I will know everyone personally in the group and it will be a safe environment. Do you know someone who could use this help? Share this with them and get them in touch with me.

How can you message me?

Easter Bunny Candy Bouquet

Who is ready for an easy peasy gift idea for Easter? Here is our favorite candy bouquet which we use mugs for the base. The mugs were picked up at garage sales and the Dollar Store. We also selected candy that our friends and family love which allowed us to personalize each mug bouquet. This is a super easy and inexpensive Easter project.

Materials Needed:
  • Mug
  • Easter Candy
  • Mug filler- we used a scarf
  • Tape or double sided dots
  • Paper Straw or Craft Stick
  • Ribbon of various sizes and colors
  • Mini Bowdabra/Ruler
  • Bowdabra Bow Wire

Instructions:

1. Gather all of your supplies.
2. Add mug filler and Easter Candy. Tape a straw or craft stick to the back of one of the pieces of candy. We used the large Easter bunny in the center. Stick this into the center of the mug and candy. Use more tape depending on the size of your candy.

3. Make a Bowdabra bow to top off the project. We tied ours to the mug handle.

4. Place the Hair Bow Tool & Ruler onto the Mini Bowdabra.  Cut 12in of Bowdabra Bow Wire fold the wire in half and place it into the Mini Bowdabra.

5. Begin by placing the widest ribbon at the 2.0in mark. Fold it back in forth for equal loops on both sides.

6. Add a colorful smaller width ribbon into the Mini Bowdabra and fold that back and forth for 2 equal loops. Trim off extra ribbon.

7. Take another color or patterned ribbon and fold it over 3 times in 1 inch segments.

8. Trim off the end and scrunch the tiny ribbon into the Mini Bowdabra to be the center of the bow.

9. Scrunch down the ribbon with the Mini Bowdabra Wand.

10. Thread the Bowdabra Bow Wire tails through the loop. Pull the wire tightly. Remove the bow from the Mini Bowdabra and knot the back.

11. Tie the bow to the bouquet. Add it to the handle, to the center candy or wrap bouquet with clear gift wrap and tie off with the bow. Trim off extra Bowdabra Wire.

I made the project for the Bowdabra Blog as one of their designers.
